About us

Two people. One van.

SYZ MOVES was founded in Manchester by Solomon Olatundun, who saw the same problem play out again and again: people booking a "man with a van" and getting a stranger who turned up late, quoted vaguely, and handled their belongings like cargo rather than someone's home. We built SYZ MOVES to be the opposite of that. Solomon's wife Yvonne is a co-founder of the business, supporting on the customer side, and a trusted crew joins Solomon on larger jobs when needed.

Quick answers to what people usually ask before booking.

Do you provide packing materials?

Yes — our packaging service covers boxes, wrapping, and tape. You can book it alongside a move, or on its own if you just need help getting things packed before the day.

Can I reschedule my move once it's booked?

Yes, just get in touch as early as possible. We'll always try to find a new slot that works, though changes with very short notice may affect availability.

Do you move at weekends?

We currently operate Monday to Friday only. If a weekend date is essential, message us and we'll let you know if an exception can be made.

How far in advance should I book?

As early as you can, especially around month-end when demand is higher. That said, we regularly take on last-minute bookings too — it's always worth asking.

What areas do you cover?

Greater Manchester as standard, with regular jobs further out across the North West including Liverpool, Lancashire, Cheshire, and Stockport. Message us your postcode and we'll confirm.

How do I pay?

Payment is agreed at booking — typically the balance is settled on completion of the move. We'll confirm accepted payment methods when we send your quote.

1. Quotations & pricing

Quotes are based on the information you provide about the job. A quote given before we've seen the full details is an estimate only and may be adjusted if the job differs from what was described. Where possible we confirm a fixed price before starting.

2. Booking & cancellations

A booking is confirmed once a date, time, and price are agreed, and any requested deposit received. We ask for as much notice as possible for cancellations — those made with less than 48 hours' notice may not be eligible for a full deposit refund.

3. Goods we do not carry

We transport general household and commercial goods only — not precious metals or valuables requiring specialised security, fuels or flammable substances, hazardous chemicals, weapons or ammunition, live animals, perishables requiring refrigeration, or biological/medical materials.

4. Our obligations

We carry out the agreed move with reasonable care and skill, handling your goods as we would our own, using appropriately maintained vehicles and equipment.

5. Your obligations

Please ensure items are ready at the agreed time, disclose anything that might affect the job (heavy items, restricted access, parking, lifts), and flag any fragile or valuable items in advance.

6. Liability & insurance

We take care to move your goods safely, but ask you to ensure your own contents insurance covers items in transit where appropriate, particularly for high-value goods. Our liability for loss or damage arising from our negligence is limited to the value of the affected item(s).

7. Payment & complaints

Payment is due as agreed at booking, typically balance on completion. If something's gone wrong, contact us within 48 hours at enquiries@syzmoves.co.uk or via WhatsApp — we'll always try to put things right.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales.

What we collect

When you submit a quote request or message us, we collect your name, phone number, email address (if provided), and details about your move (postcodes, dates, items). We don't collect anything beyond what you choose to share with us.

How we use it

Your information is used solely to provide you with a quote, arrange your move, and follow up afterwards if needed. We don't sell, rent, or share your details with third parties for marketing purposes.

Where it's stored

Quote requests submitted through this website are processed by FormSubmit, a third-party form-handling service, and delivered to our business email. WhatsApp messages are stored within WhatsApp in line with their own privacy policy.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and booking details for as long as reasonably needed to provide our service and meet any accounting or legal obligations, after which it's deleted.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time what information we hold about you, request a correction, or ask us to delete it, by contacting enquiries@syzmoves.co.uk.
